I know for sure he sang it on that record with Roland Kirk. . . .

I'm pretty certain he sang it with the Ellington Orchestra as well. Will look for evidence.

The Hibbler rendition on 'A Meeting of the Times' (on the Kirk/Hibbler reunion album on Atlantic) is superb.

Don't recall him singing that with the Ellington band. Joya Sherrill was featured on that tune several times...

Before I posed the question I listened to sound samples of the song from "A Meeting of the Times" on amazon and amg. I heard no singing. Im not a hibbler fan but a co-worker approached me and said his father was a big fan of Hibbler and could not find that song. So, if you guys say he sings that cut, that's good enough for me, now I can purchase it.....................
