from an interview with haruki murakami;

Now Murakami is "resting", running and swimming and playing squash and making short trips abroad with Yoko, working on translations and essays, wondering whether to stay on in Japan or to accept one of several offers from foreign universities, and searching for a certain LP, released only in Poland many years ago, by Stan Getz, his favourite musician. And if his house were burning down, which three albums, out of several thousand, would he save? "I give up. I couldn't choose three. So I let it burn. Everything. I save the cat."

any ideas?

It probably is the Stan Getz 'In Poland' album released on Muza. Recorded in October 1960 in Warsaw with Andrzej Trzakowski on piano, Roman Dylag on bass and Andrzej Dabrowski on drums.

Never heard that one!

Stan Getz did a session in Warsaw on 31 October 1960 for a "Stan Getz in Poland" album released on the Muza label. This might be the one.

However, according to the discographies this session was reissued later again on Muza but also on CD on a Japanese CD (TKCD) and on an Italian label (Bandstand).

The Körössy is interesting as well. It has four tracks from a 12" LP and 4 issued on a 7" EP. Never heard the EP. The LP tracks are really good but in poor sound. I wonder what the CD sounds like.
