trane_fanatic Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Just saw it today. Enjoyed it for what it was. Don't know how faithful it was to history or the Frank Miller graphic novel. What did you folks think of it? Quote
jazzbo Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 I liked it. . . .It's pure fantasy. Gets hardly nothing right historically, and I always laugh when Sparta is touted as "holding up freedom" (wonder how all those oppressed helots felt). But who cares, it's a guy flick. I think they captured the Frank Miller graphic novel world well and made a good movie of it. (I haven't read this graphic novel, but I sure "felt" Frank Miller all over this). Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Have not seen it but the reviews I've seen says it sucked. Quote
sal Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 I liked the eye candy, but didn't care for the film overall. I can't recommend it. Quote

Yep, a good ol' special-FX laden gorefest... just like Sin City. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 might have to see this just for that Rhino in the preview! Quote
Joe G Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 I liked the eye candy, but didn't care for the film overall. I can't recommend it. People hacking each other to death is the new eye candy? Quote
RDK Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 Quite faithful to Frank's GN, but I didn't like it. Quote
Guest donald petersen Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 it was like 200 times better than sin city. which means not very good but worth it if you are bored and the theater is close by. Quote

Sorry, I don't understand the concept of "not very good but worth it if you are bored and the theater is close by". Take the money and feed someone. Quote
jlhoots Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 I have absolutely zero interest in seeing this movie. Quote
sal Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 it was like 200 times better than sin city. which means not very good but worth it if you are bored and the theater is close by. See, I thought that 300 was about 200 times worse than Sin City! Quote
sheldonm Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 ...how absurd that people like different things....we just can't have this!!! Quote
Guest donald petersen Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 i also thought the 300 was about 10 times better than zodiac. not that i would want to see either again but if i had to watch one, it would be the 300. Quote
sheldonm Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 I think this thread is about 400 times worse than the one on Zodiac or Sin City....how silly! Quote
Shawn Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 I'm sick to death of movies that look like video games...I won't be wasting my time on this one. Quote
