The New Wave in Jazz

I was just thinking about whether any more of the artists' sets (assuming there was more) were recorded at the Village Gate for what became the New Wave in Jazz LP on Impulse!.

I know there's a 24-minute Moncur track and a take of "Plight" on an Impulse! comp titled The New Breed (which I also have), but am wondering whether there are other tracks by Coltrane, Shepp and Ayler. Also, as I understand it, Ra and Betty Carter each played sets.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The repackaging on the Ayler twofer only has the one track & IIRC a note that that was all that survives.

Baraka and several people associate with Ra...most recently Ahmed Abdullah...have indicated that Impulse backed out on recording Ra. Ahmed mentioned on the Saturn list that Ra was quite angry about this.

Strange that nothing from Ayler or Shepp survives in the vaults, but shit happens. I've been dealing with enough tape issues in audio preservation classes that I guess it shouldn't be a total surprise.

I'd add that if anyone has any idea what was played, whether or not it was recorded, that would also be of interest.
