...and Bob Stewart on tuba (who would have thunk it - tuba instead of bass!)

Are you familiar with much of Blythe's work? Him & Stewart go back quite a way, and there've been some good times.

Bob Stewart is on tuba on most of Arthur Blythe's recordings on Columbia--including Lenox Avenue Breakdown, Elaborations, Illusions, and Blythe Spirit.

Bob Stewart is awesome. When he was with Brass Fantasy you just had to admie him and wonder where he got the energy from.

But with Blythe, I've never found him completely satisfying. His best for me is Lenox Avenue Breakdown. A great recording by any standards.

Easier said than done. I have been grabbing every Arthur Blythe recording that I can get my hands on for a decade, and I have never come across that one.
