chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 is this an essential add-on to the mosaic? saw it in the .99 cent bin Quote
jtaylor Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) I would say no. It's a good album and features a few nice moments for Carmell Jones and Harold Land, but that's about it. More Nancy than Gerald. But for $.99, why not? Edited June 1, 2007 by jtaylor Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) GW was pretty good at writing orchestral accompaniments for vocalists. He did some superb backings for Sam Cooke in about '63 - including a great blues - "Cool train" - and probably the A side, "Frankie & Johnny". Wish I still had that single. MG Oh, and I had a Julie London album - "Feeling good" I think, with his arrangements. Edited June 1, 2007 by The Magnificent Goldberg Quote

I'd forgotten, but you're right. "You are my sunshine" I think was one of them. Was "Don't set me free" another? MG Quote
