Jump for Joy is a very nice disc indeed. Ernie Andrews is a fine singer.

Ernie Andrews is one of the last "flat footed" jazz singers around (his term). He's paid his dues and continues to deliver when called upon to do so.

He recently, May 2-6, sold out 12 shows in 5 nights at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Lincoln Center in NYC. He performed an almost all Ellington program with the Julliard Jazz Orchestra under Victor Goines. He was having as good a time as the audience. He rarely plays club dates on the East Coast so this was a very SPECIAL gig. We drove down from Boston to catch him and it was worth every minute.

He's working on a new release for High Note records. It should be out soon

i'm happy to say that i go to see ernie as often as possible. luckily, since we both live in the l.a. area, it's fairly often! he's wonderful!
