Van Basten II Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) At least, we expected it, knew since a while that he was sick. The boots are through walking i guess. Anybody's got a favourite recording of him ? Most of his stuff came out from Sweden and it was a little too expensive for my tastes. Edited August 5, 2007 by Van Basten II Quote
rostasi Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Posted August 5, 2007 Yup, he'd been sick for a while. After "Fresh Air" interviewed him and the new CD was released (of which he knew it would be his last), I featured about a dozen of his recordings on a rodcast and had some nice comments from some folks thru the Last.FM site. It was nice to have a "sit 'n' listen" session and absorb how his style changed throughout the years. An original with a fine flair for lyrics - quirks and all - and a captivatingly deep voice - a kind of country music parallel to Kevin Ayers. Quote
