Just stumbled on an unexpected TV interview with Joe Henderson, from Charlie Rose's show on PBS, round the time of the release of Joe's "Porgy & Bess" (not my favorite Henderson album, I'll just leave it at that).

The link goes to an entire 60-minute Rose program, and the interview with Joe starts at the 41:00 mark (you can click on the bar above the words "Share Favorite Add to Playlists Flag", roughly about the "i" in "Favorite" – to skip right to the part with Joe.

Shame it's with Rose, who's bluffed his way through every "musician" interview I've ever seen him do. The worst I recall was Rose interviewing Björk, asking her to describe all the sounds in her head that she couldn't get out, and then pushing her harder with the same question after she couldn't decribe them to his satisfaction. Rose also interviewed Leonard Slatkin once, asking him about "Mozart and Haydn" (pronouncing it "HAYden"), asking about what the D.C. National Orchestra happened to be playing that weekend, as if it was the most important concert ever. Criminally embarrassing, but Slatkin toughed it out (as did Bjork).

The clip closes with Joe and John Scofield playing something from Porgy & Bess (can't name the tune right off, which I know, is a crime). The music starts around the 50:30 mark.

Posts to this thread need NOT be broadcast interviews -- just any old interview footage will do, from any source.
