Tim McG Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 (edited) A teacher at my has HS died and she was only 33. She had battled cancer for the last five years and it finally got the best of her on Sunday night. It was a horrible shock to all of us on staff and when we were given the news, the room fell completely silent. All of us knew she was sick, but we thought she was beating this thing because she was looking healthy and upbeat about Life. Today the shock has turned to depression and some of you may have seen some of that on a thread last night. I just needed to tell you all this because I am not very good at handling these types of feelings...especially when it hits so close to home. In short, I regret anything I wrote in the spur of the moment if it has caused BERIGAN any undo distress. It was a very tough day yesterday and I didn't handle it well. The loss of this excellent teacher is a tragedy to this campus and to this community....her students were my students as well and the reality is just beginning to sink in for all of us. I just needed you guys to know that. No responses are necessary and if you are inclined to pray, please do so for her family. Tim Edited January 8, 2008 by GoodSpeak Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 May she rest in peace, and her family be comforted. I'm sure she touched her student's lives in a good way. Quote

Tim Tim, Very sorry to hear about this young woman's death!!! 33 is way too young. We always think of what could be when Someone's life expectancy is shortened by 40-50 years. I mentioned several years ago about the suicide of a former girlfriend who I remained good friends with. Different situation, but I am still haunted by it....She was only 24, and I still wonder where she would be today if she had overcome her depression(And the French doctors had kept her on the same level of anti-depressants her US doctors had recommended) As for what you said....well, I was busy yesterday, and never got back on the computer til today, so in other words, don't worry about whatever it was you said!
