GA Russell Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 Well, this is all over my head, but if I understand it correctly this article from the Times of London says that an iTunes customer can take the song and instead of moving it to his iPod, he can move it to a phone which uses non-Apple software. http://technology.timesonline.co.uk/tol/ne...icle3403705.ece Quote
captainwrong Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 All this does is convert the DRM'ed file to WAV and then reconvert it to something DRM free, which is something anyone could do themselves since day one by burning to a CD and re-ripping. All he's done is automate the process. Not quite a hack and it's stil transcoding, which means the end result is lower quality. Quote
