Dan Gould Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 OK, this is probably a long shot but I've been trying to locate a copy of Three More Sounds - a Musical Tribute to Gene Harris on the BP label. It was a one-off with former Three Sounds members Carl Burnett and Henry Franklin with Bobby Pierce on piano doing the Gene thing. I've never had any luck through Cadence and I've never found the label on the web. Henry Franklin has a website but its not listed as a CD he is offering and he never responded to an email asking about it. So why I am posting about it here? Simple. Whenever I've run a google search it has come up on several radio station playlists, so it occurs to me that as poorly distributed as this CD was, its at least possible that this CD sits in the library of one of our many radio people. If it does, and can be made available, I'd be more than happy to send a donation. thanks in advance. Quote
bichos Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 only an idea: on the "jazzproglist" you can reach a lot of radio people and ask about it: here is the link: http://lists.jazzweek.com/pipermail/jazzproglist/ click on "more information about this list", register and you can post. good luck. keep boppin´ marcel Quote
ghost of miles Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 Just checked here at WFIU and didn't turn it up, Dan, but good idea--surely somebody will have it. Quote
Dan Gould Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 Well, I never did follow up on the jazz programmer list idea, but after spending another fruitless hour chasing Google hits (the CD appears to be available on the MSN Zune site but when you try to purchase it, it takes you to a page with other items, not the CD), I tried to look up the review I had seen on AMG. And what do I find? A link to someone selling a copy on half.com for $8. :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited: Three days late, but I finally have something to be truly thankful for!
