I took dear Elva Miller to lunch in Hollywood in September, 1966. She had recorded "Strangers in the Night" that morning and she wasn't quite sure if it went okay, but "the boys liked it," she said of her Capitol crew.

Thanks for the déjà vu, rostasi. She eventually got through to the end. That, by the way, is her whistling--she used to fill her mouth with ice cubes to tune it right!

I recall her being asked about her husband by an AP reporter. "He's at home," she replied, "enjoying poor health."
