Hardbopjazz Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 On youtube there is an alternative version of “Tenderly”. I dig this version more than the one on the CD. While I do enjoy the master take, why was this take rejected? Maybe one day when there’s a Mosaic Organissimo it will be included. Quote

What you don't see in the video is that about thirty seconds after that segment Glenn Brown came in and yelled: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWf-abRtWO4...feature=related Quote

There are a few flubs here and there but the main reason that take did not make the cut was because the ending was considered too long. As it stands, that track doesn't and didn't get a lot of airplay due to the length (we split up the Intro and the main tune to try to help with that). Frankly, I think it's ridiculous that (some) jazz radio stations won't play tunes longer than 7 minutes or so. Anyway, one day perhaps we'll release the track, mixed and mastered and sounding spiffy.
