Chuck Nessa Posted January 10, 2009 Report Posted January 10, 2009 (although, the "Groovadelphia" cover depiction is a bit larger and takes up more space ). I bet the reason the cover is larger is because you sent Downbeat a little payola after successfully lobbying the band for the album name. Excuse me--it's called a promotional expense. Nah, that's a pseudonym for blow. Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Its not so much the word count as it is just an incomplete thought. It reads like the rest of the review is on the next page or something... You were expecting complete thoughts from DB? Your screen name may be the answer to that question... Seriously though, it's good to see the band getting some well-deserved press in the "glossies." Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 Db doesn't offer prestige (or even trusound) any more. So the crucial question is - what difference does it make to your sales? MG Quote

MG Here's a thought... "..hey great guys! Nice review, hope it does well for you." Btw, I consider the review to be an honor and a step in the right direction, musicological nerdology aside. Quote

It is funny how critical and nostalgic people can be here, regarding publications and how Jim has personally taken heat for it from some of them (latter is not as funny). Just having a go with you at any rate. I know you heart is in the right place. Warm Regards, g Quote
