mrjazzman Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Purchased this machine to make cd-r's of my LP's. Problem is no bass control on the machine and no base in the transfered product, all treble. Is there a better INEXPENSIVE way to do this........... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 It sounds like you're connecting the turntable directly to the inputs of the CD burner, right? That's a no-no. You need a turntable preamp to go inbetween the two. Not only does the preamp boost the signal, but it applies the RIAA equalization curve to the audio, without which it will be all treble and no bass. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Maybe, maybe not. How do you normally listen to your LPs? Through an integrated stereo amplifier of some kind? Sometimes they have auxillary (or tape) outputs, to which you can hook the CD burner. The integrated amplifier would do the RIAA eq (assuming it has a phono input) and you'd be all set. Quote
AllenLowe Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 just listen to it in a basement with bad acoustics - that adds a lot of bass - Quote
