mgraham333
good question - though there are none on the disc. I hope to catch this tour when it comes to Norman, OK
mgraham333
Some Blue Note specials going on at Amazon.com. They are offering a 2-disc edition of the new one by the Blue Note 7. First disc is regular edition, 2nd disc is a compilation of the tracks from the 1st disc by the original artist (taken from the RVG collection). Right now the 2-disc edition is cheaper than the standard.

funkogre
Blue Note 7 set list Seattle Jan., 8 2009 Mosaic Criss Cross Dolphin Dance arr. Rosnes Hub Tones arr. Payton The Outlaw arr. Charlap United -Shorter Idle Moments Little B's Poem arr. Wilson Soy Califa -Gordon arr. Wilson Bouquet(?) -Hutcherson arr. Rosnes Inner Urge arr. Payton Encore...Party Time -Lee Morgan As far as I can remember, this was what they played. A few things might be out of order. So one Lee tune, they better play some Hank tunes! I bet they will as Charlap is a Hank fan.
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez
hmm sounds ok, outlaw is a great tune- no hank songs---pffst! i dont get the monk stuff, monk is not the history of blue note. sure he recorded for them but blue notes legacy is NOT monk....its lee and hank!!! Ken Dryden
I just talked to Lewis Nash last night. He said they started with arrangements of twenty or so songs and they're adding more as they tour. Doug Ramsey enjoyed the show that he saw, check out his review at his Rifftides blog. mgraham333
I caught the show in Norman, OK on March 18th. Here's the set list: The Outlaw Party Time Soy Califa United Idle Moments Inner Urge Encore: Mosaic The performance was great. All the band members seemed very engaged. I met and spoke with Ravi Coltrane before and after the show. He hung out with fans and was very pleasant. None of the other band members came out as far as I could see. Patrick
Second set, last night at the Kennedy Center (DC): The Outlaw Song for My Father Criss Cross Idle Moments Mosaic encore: Party Time I may be forgetting one title. I was especially impressed by the rhythm section (Charlap, Washington, Bernstein, Nash), and a tad underwhelmed by Nick Payton. Steve Wilson and Ravi Coltrane were solid. Sold out night (both sets) in the smallish Terrace Theater (maybe 500-600 capacity?), mostly old folks, no school groups. Very appreciative crowd. I always thought Charlap was a lot taller than he is--must be the camera angle (or that the BlueNote 7 includes several even taller guys). And I did not know BC was married to Rene Rosnes.
