Bright Moments Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 it seems like just yesterday that i was a newbie and now i just realized that i am a VETERAN GROOVER!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 I don't think it was that kind of Veteran's Day... What amazes me is that it seems like I've seen your avatar a lot more than 200 times; it must stand out for some reason... Quote
AfricaBrass Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 (edited) Oh, I thought you were a VETerinarian. James T. Cat isn't feeling too well. Too much whip cream (and other delights). Edited November 14, 2003 by AfricaBrass Quote

Jazzmoose Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Hey, that's an interesting site, and a well made "infotoon". But I'm still ROTFLMAO over "Moopheus" Quote
slide_advantage_redoux Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 This whole industrial farming situation we are faced with is very disturbing. Now I read that the FDA is about to (or has already done so) approve cloned meat for consumers! This scares the bejesus out of me!! I just can't accept that this can be a healthy thing! It is enough to drive one to vegetarianism, and that is not an appealing option to me! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Slide, try reading about the lakes of pigshit some of these places produce; it's not exactly appetizing. On the other hand, I agree; that option doesn't appeal to me either. On the other hand, supporting those who raise animals under more humane conditions is something I couls support, and with those links...well, let's just say that the grocery store across the street from work is on the list of stores who do just that. Can't hurt... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 We were at the grocery store tonight (the wife and I) and passed up some free range chicken because it was over $1 more per pound. But when you think about it, that's not a lot of money. I think next time I'll try some and see if the lack of hormones tastes different! Quote

Bright Moments Posted November 14, 2003 Author Report Posted November 14, 2003 this thread turned out differently than expected! that meatrix was pretty wild! B) Quote
jacman Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 FWIW-i only buy free-range poultry, and hormone/antibiotic free meats. as far as fruits/veggies, i buy organic. it is more expensive, but i feel it is well worth the extra cost. and IMO it tastes better. Quote
