Hardbopjazz Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Any other members have those big ass picture books? I do have several and do have them in my living room. Most are nature related. I am looking for one jazz related. The one below is too expensive but I would like to get it one day. Quote
bichos Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 i have the "to bird with love" by chan parker and francis paudras. i was shocked how expensive it is now! also "jazz seen" by william claxton and "150 years of photo journalism" by the hulton getty picture collection. also fine is my edition (in german) of "that´s jazz-der sound des 20. jahrhunderts" from an exhibition of the jazz institute darmstadt. it´s always a pleasure to leaf through in it. keep boppin´ marcel Quote
medjuck Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 How big does a book have to be before it becomes a coffee table book? I have a bunch of books of jazz photography and find that when they get too big I hardly look at them. The Taschlen edition of the William Claxton "Jazz Life" is so big it's unwieldy (and quite a bit bigger than the original edition). I find that within in a year of their first release large photo books are often remaindered. The they go out of print and start to get very expensive. Quote
