I BET HE DID SOME KILLER CLUB GIGS WHILE HE WAS THERE. I BET HE EVEN DID FRENCH ACID. I WONDER WHAT HANK THOUGHT OF THE CREAM OR LATE PERIOD BEATLES. NOT MUCH IS KNOWN ABOUT HANKS TIME IN EUROPE, NO? Daniel A Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I'm not sure hank did too well during those years. Brownie met Hank in Paris and has posted about that here. If I remember correctly Hank slept in an empty room at a hospital. Quote
BillF Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 I saw Hank play with a local rhythm section at Club 43 in Manchester in the late sixties - around 1967 IIRC. His sound was gorgeous, but he was definitely "under the influence". The gig was organized by club owner and one-time Maynard Ferguson sideman, Ernie Garside. Quote
