allright classical people - years ago I knew Pat Zimmerli as a very fine young saxophonist in the area of Hartford Connecticut. Well, looking around I see he has become a classical (neo classical?) composer. Been listening to some of his stuff and I find it god-awful. Sorta like bad PBS new-age bored-of-the-dance stuff.

anyone else have an opinion?

Sounds like he's had a very interesting life! Him and Madden made a great team for a long time, but I think he stayed on past his prime. Maybe that's why his music is like it is...life in the NFL does that to a man, ya' know.

Ok, I'm listening to hi MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/patrickzimmerli and...it's not not good. But I dunno.....it's like...50 or 60 years too late or something.

But he does cut a dashing profile!

I mean, yeah, but...mmmm....sounds to me like he's a pop-/azz guy at heart, and a not necessarily uninteresting one. I'm listening to "Take Wing" & hearing...Monday Michiru, of all people, only Monday writes this type thing in an essentially pop-song format and that focuses the essences instead of diffuses them, which is unfortunately what I'm hearing here. And then there's "The Shadow Of Your Smile", which I'm not sure I get at all....

Sounds like a talented cat to me, but...just not relevant to my lifestyle.

Of course, if he were to join the board, I'd re-listen, re-evaluate, realize how hip a motherfucker he really is, and spend the rest of my life currying favor with him!
