vajerzy Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I have a picture that's 1.5 mb and it's too large to add- any suggestions? Quote
Van Basten II Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Unless there is a change with the new board, there are no limits regarding the size of pictures posted inside the threads only for those used as an avatar. Edited December 19, 2009 by Van Basten II Quote
Noj Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Host it on a free site like Flickr or Imageshack and link to it instead of uploading it. Quote
Van Basten II Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) It would be fun for future reference, what is the maximum size we can upload, on the previous board, if the picture was too big it would be automatically be formatted in a smaller version and then you could click on it to see it in his original size Edited December 19, 2009 by Van Basten II Quote
aparxa Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 If picture quality is not the first criteria of the post, you can resize it with any picture editors such as basic ones like Paint: Resizing 40%*40% or else. [25%*25% to get under 100k for a 1.5Mb picture] Quote
Uncle Skid Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Download and install IrfanView. Image->Resize is an easy way to reduce the dimensions (and size) of any image file, and then saving as a .jpg (if the image is not already in that format) will reduce the file size dramatically over .bmp and other formats. Easy to use, and free. Quote
Aggie87 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Host it on a free site like Flickr or Imageshack and link to it instead of uploading it. I do the same - I prefer uploading things to Imageshack and then linking to them, so they can be seen "full size", instead of as a smaller attachment that is uploaded directly from your hard drive. vajerzy Posted December 20, 2009 Author Report Posted December 20, 2009 Hey thanks guys- I wanted to post a few snow pictures up, and the max is 100k. Quote
Quincy Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Web Resizer Upload your picture, download the smaller version. Has some simple cropping capabilities too. I use it often use it over Photoshop Elements as it's faster. Quote
