ok i passed on it till i hear your or other qualified posts about it....

i just wasnt convinced, i mean, what tape anyway did pathe marconi have to work with in 1983 anyway? i just didnt know....

the vinyl was clean though, nice repro cover, funky type of nice matte cardboard though

i have a pathe marconi rajah i believe from 86, which is good, but i just wasnt sure---

right now i have the JRVG cd

should i hold out for the original? i can put it with my original behind the 8 ball

An OK substitute for the real thing.

I purchased the Pathé-Marconi LP when it came out. It was one of the BNs I was still looking for at the time. And those French reissues were available at very reasonable prices. It still is my only copy of this album.

The sound (yes it's digital) is better than the cover printing. You can see the heavy ring wear from the copy they used to reproduce the cover.

If the price is right, why not get it. To purchase an original vinyl is a very expensive investment by now!

Serious advice please. I have an original (with ear in wax). And quite a few others. What's my best bet folks? I don't play these much. I have them on McM CDs or TOCJs or whatever.

Is it practical to run an auction here? I don't want to do e-bay. What about payment? I have a paypal account that I use to make payments. What happens if someone sends me money?

Unless I've overlooked them, I don't think people do auctions here on the board. It would seem a bit of an awkward thing.

A better alternative, imo, would be to guage the latest selling prices on ebay, and then price your item(s) below (to what extent is up to you) what you could get on ebay.

Here's a site where you can easily see auction results from the recent past (also good for finding cover art): http://www.popsike.com/index.html

Thanks Jim, that's very interesting.
