GA Russell Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) In the past, NPR has broadcast live jazz New Year's Eve performances. A couple of years ago they had Joe Lovano and McCoy Tyner at Yoshi's but I couldn't stay up that late. Does anyone know if NPR or anyone on the internet will broadcast live New Year's Eve jazz concerts? Edited December 30, 2009 by GA Russell Quote
GA Russell Posted December 30, 2009 Author Report Posted December 30, 2009 OK, I've found out what NPR is doing. Anat Cohen, John Pizzarelli, Irvin Mayfield and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. It will be on WBGO, so we can listen to it on the internet. http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/news.php?id=46923 Anyone know of anything else live on the internet? Quote
ghost of miles Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Not live, but I tweeted and Facebooked a Night Lights show from the archives this a.m.: The New Year's Eve Jam ...a somewhat Beat-hepcat-oriented affair, with Slim Gaillard, Lenny Bruce, Ken Nordine, Charlie Parker, Harry the Hipster Gibson, etc. Quote
sonnymax Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Weather permitting, I'm going into Boston to see local heroes Either/Orchestra, followed by the Claudia Quintet. Then it's back home for the tail end of the Three Stooges marathon on AMC! Felice Ano Nuevo! Quote
