JSngry Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Simple - every time you hear somebody use the word "basically" in conversation, direct or overheard, take a shot. Easy as that. Quote
Spontooneous Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 What if they say, "At the end of the day..."? Quote
JSngry Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 Different game...how drunk do you want to get & how soon do you want to get there? Quote
Dave James Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 If you were like talking to a teenager and like every time they said like, you had to like take a drink, you could be like totally hammered like inside 20 minutes. Quote
JSngry Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 This game is for grownups. Go to work today, listen for "basically", and imagined yourself shitfaced by 10:30. For real! Quote
Dave James Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 As long as we're on the subject, I have some other questions. 1) When did a television show become an "event". 2) When (but more to the point, why) is Villanova now just "Nova" and Syracuse, "Cuse". Only a couple of examples. There are many more. 3) What is it about the word "deserve" (as in, get the credit you deserve, or the car you deserve) that's made it the current go to phrase in advertising? 4) How many angels can you stack on the head of a pin? Now that I'm retired, I spend my days contemplating things like this. I feel like I'm doing important work. Is that wrong? Quote
Hot Ptah Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 If you were like talking to a teenager and like every time they said like, you had to like take a drink, you could be like totally hammered like inside 20 minutes. More like three minutes. Quote
Hot Ptah Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Another adult drinking game would be to take a drink whenever an adult begins a sentence with "Honestly", "Candidly", or "To be honest about it", or some slight variation. Quote
Free For All Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Another adult drinking game would be to take a drink whenever an adult begins a sentence. I've edited your post to describe my favorite drinking game. Quote
aparxa Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 I basically stopped using the word "techniquement" after I realized my students were doing a counting game. Quote
aparxa Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Quite a sobering experience acshully Quote
papsrus Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 My neighbor has a son who I think must play all of these games. He just came by, drunk, at 11:30 in the morning, a ciggy tucked behind each ear, asking me for $5 so he could get some more beer. ... Couple of months ago he knocked on my door at 3 a.m., drunk, wanting $40 so he could get a hotel room for the night. ... What the fuck did I do to deserve this? Drinking games suck. So do drunks. I'm calling ADT. Quote

What if I read the word? Or do I need (hiccup) to be reading this thread aloud? Irish coffee for breakfast! Quote
