The Magnificent Goldberg
Time we had a thread for Irene, so here's a bit of video of her with the Basie band in 1961-62. One of my favourites. And keep going past "I got rhythm" for some blues. MG
Dan Gould
I haven't gone back too far on Irene Reid but quite a few years ago I took a chance on one of her recordings because Charles Earland and Eric Alexander were on it, and I soon found that just about all of the Savants she recorded are worthwhile. I even used her recording of "What a Difference a Day Made" on my Wedding soundtrack.

Shirley Bassey was pretty influential in terms of a certain kind of film song after, which? - "Goldfinger"? MG
