Son-of-a-Weizen Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Thought about hitting this at the last minute but was having an extended happy hour with the neighbors. How was it? decent crowd? Quote
bertrand Posted March 27, 2010 Author Report Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) The crowd was quite good in the first set; not SRO or anything, but far from empty. Beautiful music - a killer second set, with Sarah Hughes on alto joining tenor Brad Linde on four tunes in a row from Shades Of Redd: Ole, Shadows, Melanie and Thespian. Two Freddie originals in the first set: Nica Steps Out and O.D. Highly recommended if anyone can make it out. Bertrand. Edited March 27, 2010 by bertrand Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 I caught his show at Dizzy's in NY. It was real nice. The first 10 minutes he was interviewed by WBGO. Quote
