felser Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 My link Rhino has packaged Dionne Warwick's first three albums ('Presenting...','Anyone Who Had A Heart','Make Way For...') along with two other early good ones ('The Windows of the World','Valley of the Dolls') in a 5CD mini-LP set that you can get for under $25 on Amazon Marketplace. Sound is no great shakes, the packaging is basic, and there are no liner notes, but you're effectively getting 58 songs of primo Warwick/Bacharach-David for a very reasonable price. Some great great stuff. The same series has 5CD entries by Donny Hathaway, the Drifters, Chaka Khan, and others. It's called "Original Album Series", basically like the Sony/BMG "Original Album Classics" series. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Not all of which are remastered: that Dr John set looks tasty. wonder if the sound is in need of magic? Quote
