DukeCity Posted April 28, 2010 Report Share Posted April 28, 2010 So I'm listening to Bye Bye Blackbird from Miles Davis All-Stars Live in 1958-59, and in his first chorus of blowing, he quotes "Maria" from West Side Story. At length. Twice. Seems very un-Miles-ish. I can't think of him doing much in the way of quoting other tunes in his solos. Anyone have any insight as to what was going on in that show?
