rostasi Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 I've just received word that Johannes Fritsch has died at the young age of 68. A wonderful composer who was also a professor of composition at the Kölner Musikhochschule and a founder of a publishing house for contemporary music that included works by younger composers. I cherish the times that we had chatting together - including his birthday a few years ago - about the new music scene in general and the various artistic events in Köln in particular. He was a very warm-hearted, humorous man who'll be greatly missed by friends, family and students - both young and old. Currently, there are only German obituaries on line, but there is a pre-update wikipedia entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Fritsch Rod Quote
clifford_thornton Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 RIP. I know him from his work with Kagel, etc in Cologne. Interesting character. Quote
