I almost got to see her in NY last May and which I had made it! I first became aware of her via her association with David Burger's big band (I buy charts from him). They made a nice CD together: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/champianfulton

I actually prefer the Venus disc to the latest one, though both are good. The version of "Tea for Two" on the earlier recording is a knock-out. Lots of sound clips at her website ...

Went to the website, and she seems to be a good one...but there was no guidance as to her name. In my many years of radio, one of the things I was fearful of was mispronounciation, and I'll admit being stumped by "Champian", a name I've never seen before.

Would it be said as in 'champion', with a real "chuh" sound, or possibly softer, as if it were French -- as in 'shampian'? Or even "Champi-Anne"? Inquiring minds want to know!
