porcy62 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) I guess there are some performers that just got you, whatever they do, no matters if there are better peformances (or recordings) of that concert or sonata. My short list: Klemperer, Kempff, Gilels, Menhuin, Boehm, Quartetto Italiano, Beaux Art Trio. edit: forgot Rostropovich and Kleiber Edited June 15, 2010 by porcy62 Quote

porcy62 Posted June 15, 2010 Author Report Posted June 15, 2010 Not sure if you are talking about entertainment or musical results. Not sure I can tell apart. I mean that some performers drawn me into the music, maybe the slow tempos of Klemperer (not really slow IMHO) were 'wrong', but I was never disappointed, and Kovacevic's Beethoven is often sublime, but Kempff'one moves some inner chords... Hope it helps Quote
brownie Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 My list is very short: David Oistrakh Can't remember any other that did not disappoint me at some time or other! Quote
porcy62 Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 Ok, I am wrong. I got your message. When I'll meet Kovacevic I'll kill him for that boring Schubert... Now I'd like to know who killed Klemperer, Kempff, Gilels, Menuhin, Boehm, Kleiber and Rostropovich...Chuck? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 What message are you talking about? Quote
porcy62 Posted June 17, 2010 Author Report Posted June 17, 2010 What message are you talking about? Well, nobody posted, so I presume nobody has 'fave' performers. About killing them, it was a bad attempt of irony, since nobody laughed. Quote
