I made arrangements to meet my old professor, bassist Richard Davis, on the Memorial Union Terrace, where they have tables and chairs set up along the lake shore. I had not seen Richard in person in about 15 years. About a minute before he arrived, a massive amount of bird poop landed on my bare arm and shirt, from above. The shock of the massive splat quickly gave way to efforts to appear minimally presentable, quickly. Quote

The shock of the massive splat quickly gave way to efforts to appear minimally presentable, quickly. that tale reminds me of those fabulous tv commercials many years ago when all kinds of chaos was raining on this handsome devil who always maintained his cool--was he advertising colt 45? i cant remember. the great basketball coach john wooden remarked that on the morning after he won his first ncaa title in st. louis, he walked out of the hotel and a bird used his head for target practice. that brought him quickly back to the real world, coach wooden said.
