skeith Posted August 31, 2011 Report Posted August 31, 2011 About a decade ago, I purchased some black cardboard cd storage boxes and now want to get another one. I can't seem to find the ones to match what I got before. Bags Unlimited has something but it appears they only have it in white. Box racism? Quote

GA Russell Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 Apropos, I am in the market for shoebox type boxes to store perhaps 30 CDs each. Any ideas? Quote
jazzbo Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 I have about a dozen of these jam-packed with Grateful Dead shows. Work nicely. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00062UW5A/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000E95O1M&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0MWVJRP8HDW4EQBNN8MC Quote
skeith Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 thanks Leeway and Jazzbo! Leeway, have you used the black boxes featured in CD Sleeves? Are they the thick cardboard - heavy duty type? Do they sell it without the individual cd sleeves.... seems they don't? Quote

I prefer to keep CDs on open shelves (or more likely in piles on the desk), so I've never checked out the sizing of the Ikea things... Quote

Leeway Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 thanks Leeway and Jazzbo! Leeway, have you used the black boxes featured in CD Sleeves? Are they the thick cardboard - heavy duty type? Do they sell it without the individual cd sleeves.... seems they don't? Sorry, I haven't used them myself. I've bought regularly from Sleeve City over the years, and I recalled they had something like what you wanted. You might give them a call or drop an email regarding your questions. Quote

I used these when Helen and I were living in Houston during her lymphoma treatment. I spent a lot of time in waiting rooms and hospital rooms so I downnloaded a lot of Grateful Dead shows and then made artwork at night, burned them to cdr and filed them in these boxes. Kept me occupied and not thinking of certain things. They work really well for storage, they hold up pretty darned well. Quote
