Big Wheel Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 I'm putting together a radio show featuring the music of Carl Perkins, to air a couple of weeks from now. Perkins appeared on Jim Hall's "Jazz Guitar" on Pacific Jazz (originally PJ 1227), an album which I am still trying to track down. The thing is this: the CD reissue of Jazz Guitar contained edited versions of the tunes on the original LP, and the 1963 reissue of the album, PJ/ST 79, has Larry Bunker overdubbed onto the original recordings for some reason. Would anyone be able to make me a burn or fairly high-res mp3 copies of the material that was on the original issue? I'd be happy to compensate people with a couple of CDRs of OOP material from my radio station's library. If you'd like to help out, send me a PM. Thanks!! Adam Quote
mikeweil Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 I'm afraid the unedited first edition is extremely rare - I'm sure Michael Cuscuna would have used a copy to edit in the missing portions or included them as bonus tracks, if would have been able to find one. I suggest you contact him regarding this. Quote
