Also curious. I heard Napoleon Murphy Brock a few years ago in KC with the Zappa tribute band "Project Object" (they also had Ike Willis on the date) -- both sounded great!!

Random thought on Don Preston - he has a really fantistic piano trio album from 2001, called "Transformation", with a couple great Carla Bley tunes, and a really cool version of Zappa's "The Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbeque".

Curious, and tempted.
