B. Goren. Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Do you think this is the end of an era? Personally I think the answer is no. And you? Quote
EKE BBB Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I think it is. I hope it is. A Real Madrid supporter Quote
B. Goren. Posted April 28, 2012 Author Report Posted April 28, 2012 I can certainly understand your hope but since too many Barca players are now at the peak of their career, it is not the end yet. I'm not a fan of any of them but I wanted to see both of them in Munich... Sergo Ramos penalty kick: Quote
J.A.W. Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) I'm not a fan of any of them but I wanted to see both of them in Munich... I'm glad neither of them got through to the final. The success of Spanish clubs (and English clubs too, for that matter) is built on huge debt. The current situation is extremely unfair; football associations in other countries (Germany, Netherlands) have very strict rules when it comes to financial control of and within their clubs, but in Spain hardly anyone seems to be doing anything about it - yes, UEFA are trying on a European level with their financial fair play scheme, but whether they will have the courage to ban debt-ridden clubs from the Champions League and the Europa League remains to be seen. Brad Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I also hope it's the end of them, as a RM fan but doubt it. big disappointment on how they lost the match. Quote
J.A.W. Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) To add to my previous post: I sincerely hope Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Chelsea, Manchester City and all those other clubs with huge debts will be banned from European competitions by UEFA until they have sorted things out in line with UEFA's financial fair play scheme, which will come into effect with the 2012-2013 season. In principle I agree with you but I doubt if this ever happens. Quote
