The label's two collections of post-war gospel were great - I really hope they do this well -

"COMING IN AUGUST : 'He Is My Story : The Sanctified Soul of Arizona Dranes' (Book w/ CD)"

perfect timing - I've written a piece for my next CD called "The Last Words of Arizona Dranes."

Looking forward to that too

This seems like some great stuff! Tompkins Square does their packages very well. :tup

They do - Susan Archie designed the one pictured - so it'll look great even if we can't get the CDs out

He's an icon, to be sure, so even if it's not just me, it's still not enough of other people to make it stop...I just think his whole thing is creepy, and not in a good way. It was ok (enough) when that type of creepy was at least somehow relevant, but that time has come and gone, as I wish his work on these type projects would.

That's not gonna happen, though.

Didn't say I wouldn't buy the music. If it's available as an MP3 set, that will suffice.

and yes, I really do hate Crumb's work. Back in the days when I was collecting "underground" comics, I went out of way to avoid his work. Just too damn...developmentally challenged. Too easy, a cheap style triumphing over an even cheaper substance (and giving him credit for having any substance at all might be a push...).

Commies From Mars, otoh, that one was a real treat. Think I might still have a copy of this one in the closet. But Crumb? Nah, Crumb's a scourge.

I have stopped buying Arc Rum as a result of this thread.

I should also have explained the Arizona Drains are in the southern part of the state and have been really, really dry for years. I think I have a pic somewhere.
