Hardbopjazz Posted November 11, 2012 Report Posted November 11, 2012 I am listening to the Tadd Dameron Royal Roost Broadcast from 1948 tonight. These shows went on consecutively for a few months. This appeared to be true for a lot of working bands back in the 40s and 50s. Anyone have an idea when these long engagements at clubs stopped? I would believe it would have been in the late 1960s. Of course this was due to the decline of jazz when rock came into existence. Quote
