The fifth valve is used to open the second bell that sounds the same note as the main bell. BTW: What's buggin' me though is that after I bought myself two (!) Roland V-Drums kits, they update the whole range with this: [you need the latest Flash player for this] ... forget their video presentation ... it sucks. Judging from a video elsewhere on the net, this kit is a real killer ... stunning sounds, perfect response, as close to acoustic sounds as you can get (yeah, I know, but I live in an apartement and would also rather have a real acoustic set).
