Homefromtheforest Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Tonight's episode saw Lisa and her friend in a record store...the background music was Oliver Nelson's "blues and the abstract truth"! Also in the record racks were albums like "my favorite things", "out to lunch", "the sidewinder", and "social studies" by Carla Bley...pretty cool! Quote
sidewinder Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Any Mosaics? (isn't Matt G. a Mosaic customer?) Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I saw that too. I didn't recognize the Carla Bley record at first, then saw the title. Quote
Michael Weiss Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Of course one can't forget "Jackie McLean Pizza." Earlier thread here: Quote
xybert Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Of course one can't forget "Jackie McLean Pizza." Earlier thread here: The other thread you've linked to covered a lot of the other Simpson/Jazz references i was going to cite. There's also since been the episode where Bart became a successful jazz drummer on the scene (much to Lisa's disgust). Was full of stereotypes, but then that's The Simpsons! Quote
