scooby Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 For the longest time, I thought there were only 3 alternate takes to Wardell Gray's classic recording of "Twisted". Someone sent me a link to a YouTube video of a 4th alternate take. I have transcribed it and added it to my website to go along with the Master Take and the other alternates. http://scooby-sax.com/Transcriptions.html - Scooby Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 So, what does his analyst tell him this time? Quote
BeBop Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 I don't have them in front of me, but I thought the Misterioso LPs had five takes of Twisted, seven of Southside... Quote
erwbol Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Thank you for the video. The recent SHM-CD of Memorial Vol.1 has only three alternate takes (C, A & D) of Twisted, same as the OJCs, but different track order. I don't have them in front of me, but I thought the Misterioso LPs had five takes of Twisted, seven of Southside... The video states the source as Misterioso MLP1983. By the way, there are seven takes in total of Southside on the SHM. Quote
scooby Posted February 1, 2015 Author Report Posted February 1, 2015 The OJC was my reference for thinking there were only 3 alternates. So with the Master and 4 alternates, that adds up to the 5 versions that BeBop references on the Misterioso LPs. Glad I have them all transcribed now. Quote
JohnS Posted February 2, 2015 Report Posted February 2, 2015 I have those Misteriso records. Time to give them a play perhaps. Numerous unissued alternates are listed on the four albums. Quote
