One of the giants of music, Coleman Hawkins was the primary model for how to play the tenor saxophone in jazz, Bud Freeman notwithstanding, until the arrival of Lester Young. Jazz From Blue Lake featured highlights of his long career, especially underscoring recordings made with fellow tenormen Ben Webster, John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins.
