I'm not familiar with the earlier Tokyo on Sony, but this Harmonia Mundi set is kind of a bargain. If you enjoy their approach, you get great performances and sound for comparatively little money.

Thnx  .... was not really touched by their first recording of the Beethoven String Quartet cycle - but still remain curious what 25 years of further experience btw career would change in their approach ....
