Hardbopjazz Posted August 2, 2016 Report Posted August 2, 2016 What is this? Is this a compilation? No information on the link below. https://www.amazon.com/Strollin-Horace-Silver-Quintet/dp/B00ZJ3GO30/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1470181496&sr=8-4-fkmr0&keywords=The+Horace+Silver+Quintet+live+in+paris It appears to be the same as the "Horace-Scope" release. paul secor Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 The timings on the tracks are identical, so I'd guess that it's just a copying of Horace-Scope. One to avoid. Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted September 12, 2016 Report Posted September 12, 2016 still, its kind of nuts that someone took the time to manufacture this- the one that gets me all the time, is Hank Mobley: 14 complete BN album on 4 compact discs! that i saw in the last few yrs, when the last brick n morter recordstore in town has their new jazz cd sec. CHOCK FULL of these types of releases Quote
Gheorghe Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 Horace-Scope is really a lovely album Quote

Gene Bertoncini did a lovely version of Strollin' on his gig the other night. As for me, I just took off and learned Peace. There's no one like Horace at his best...
