My listening schedule is all shaken up by pain management on Lucinda’s broken arm. I’m on my second listen of disc 3 of this very interesting box set released last week.

Bob Dylan “Through The Open Window (The Bootleg Series Vol. 18 1956-1963)” 8 cd edition

This is a really good album. Bill Holman's arrangements fit perfectly with Zoot.

The arrangement of the tune "Main Stem" is simply outstanding. As to be expected, Zoot's solos are terrific, and we also get a  few very nice solos from Frank Rosolino.

Since Buster Williams is featured so extensively in this duo setting, this album is a "must-hear" for anyone who enjoys his sound, his playing.  I can't get enough of it.

And Kenny Barron is wonderful too, of course.  ;)
