Red had a working trio up until, iirc, 1963 or so, after which he moved to Dallas to take care of his mother (again, iirc.). Out of sight, out of mind, no record dates, no live gigs. Not home to check my discographies, so don’t have the dates when Red recorded a number of things for Galaxy. He also did a couple of sessions for MPS. Quote
JSngry Posted July 30, 2018 Report Posted July 30, 2018 The last "NYC" session was done in 1962, the MPS dates were in 1971 oand from my experience, only The Quota had a stateside presence. The "comeback" didn't really get underway until 1977. So, that's a long time off the national scene. He was still playing locally though, all during that time. Quote
