I believe it was Gene Lees -- to his credit -- that brought her into the stable of writers for the magazine. I wasn't aware of her pioneering work in the advertising world. In fact her involvement in Jazz was only briefly mentioned. I well recall reading her articles and reviews in Down Beat when they were first published. Quote
