montg Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 (edited) Just noticed on Alan's site that these are scheduled for release this spring (apologies if this has been posted elsewhere): --------------------------------------------------------------- NEW Various Artists - Blue Note Revisited (Blue Note) Apr 20 NEW Cannonball Adderley - Cannonball Plays Zawinal (Blue Note/Capitol Jazz) Apr 20 NEW The Jazz Crusaders - Lighthouse '68 (Blue Note/Pacific Jazz) Apr 20 NEW Thad Jones/Mel Lewis - Central Park North (Blue Note/Solid State) Apr 20 NEW Peggy Lee - Things are Swingin' (Blue Note/Capitol Jazz) Apr 20 NEW Nancy Wilson - Something Wonderful (Blue Note/Capitol Jazz) Apr 20 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm particularly excited about the Jones/Lewis release...I missed the Mosaic box. jazzbo Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 That Cannonball will be my first pick of this litter. Is that a new compilation? I don't remember seeing mention of that as an original lp. Quote

king ubu Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Hey, what about the GREAT vol. 7 of the series that Cannon took with him when he left Riverside? Want that on CD NOW!! ubu Quote
Bluerein Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Can't find the Cannonballl plays ZawinAl (nice typo) either. The Peggy Lee and Nancy Wilson LP's are available as EMI/UK twofers for a low price so strange choices for a seperate issue imo. Cheers, Reinier And indeed we need the Cannonball in Europe (the vol.7 Ubu wrote about) anytime soon!!!!! Quote
