Balladeer Posted September 22, 2020 Report Posted September 22, 2020 Just got informed that one of the most legendary European homes of jazz has shut down because of Covid-19. Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen was a cosy jazz venue hosting legendary concerts by Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz and Chet Baker among others. Jazzhus goes back to 1959, now it is history - I´m dismayed! http://www.jazzhusmontmartre.dk/info-om-corona-virus.html Quote
BFrank Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 That's a shame! I have a couple of Dexter albums recorded there. Had the good fortune to see 2 shows in 1978: Pat Metheny and then Carla Bley Band 3 nights later. Don't remember much about it or the shows, but fairly intimate if I remember correctly. Quote
